Mud, dust, dirty rain, water spots, unsightly brake dust and grime start sticking to your vehicle almost immediately after cleaning it, our vehicles also have to endure snow, ice, salted roads, tree sap, bird droppings, road tar, petrol & diesel spills on the road & environmental pollutants and many other contaminants including brake dust and industrial fallout etc.
Automatic car washes, drive in £5-10 hand car washes & wash brushes all scratch, marr and dull your paint significantly. They often use chemicals that are terrible for the exterior surfaces of your vehicle. Not to mention daily life scratches from poor washing techniques, road grit, dirty sponges, trees/bushes and even oily residues from things like fingerprints with sun-tan lotion on (sun tan lotion marks can be a real pain to remove!)
Wax adds a good level of shine and gloss, offers a small amount of protection but lasts barely a few months at best. It certainly doesn’t act anywhere near as well as a quality glass/ceramic coating product in terms of gloss, protection and hardness.
Here’s where Ceramic Coatings come in. Originally designed for the oil and space industry, the 9h (hardness) ceramic technology has now expanded quickly into the automotive industry, all because how effective it really is.
What is a 9H ceramic coating? The easiest way is to understand Ceramics Coatings are to think of them as a second layer of skin, an added layer of protection over your car’s clear coat. They utilise nanotechnology, which are essentially tiny particles that form a very fine, thin layer, completely invisible to the eye bar the exceptional gloss created. Because these particles are so small, when applied to a surface, they seal all the pores making the surface hydrophobic (water-repellent), but also more resistant to UV, wash induced scratches, chemicals, extreme heat and even anti-graffiti (far more easily removable). This 9H ceramic layer is completely transparent.

Otherwise known as being very water repellent. An important feature of a nano Ceramic Coating is that it is hydrophobic. This basically means that water will be repelled instantaneously.
When your vehicle is ceramic coated, the incredible hydrophobic effect of the coating will cause water to bead up and roll off the surface along with most dirt, grime, or mud (as it has all been unable to bond to your vehicle’s paint). When people ask “what is ceramic coating” this is often the first demonstration.
Any remaining dirt on the vehicle can be removed with less effort. With a lot less effort.
A ceramic coating works much harder at protecting the surface of your vehicle than an ordinary, bare paint job or other products like wax etc. Rain and water bead as opposed to accumulating on the surface. Snow and ice does not stick to the surface and muddy, dirty water slides off far more easily.
Protection from UV Damage/Oxidization
Vehicles often exposed to the sun will start seeing the paint fade and look dull. This is caused by the sun’s ultraviolet sun-rays, which causes oxidation to the Vehicles paint. By adding a layer of Ceramic Coating to your paint, you can dramatically reduce the oxidation effect.
Ceramic coatings or nano coatings if you will, work much harder at protecting the surface of your vehicle than an ordinary paint job. The new coating bonds with the molecular structure of your car’s paint and can’t be dislodged by vibrations or external force, meaning it lasts years not months, think of it as an added layer of skin on top of your paint.
